manna. harbor seal mothers and calves resting & nursing on the beach, the water, especially the water, the curve of waves approaching through the kelp seaweed beds. the otters gathered in communal rafts, the rocks, birds, like pelicans like gulls, grey haze keeping the view intimate, blue water favored of the Sun, green water, my favorite kind of sea.
when I crave more better peace. this is where I go. near daily I think. never regret being there. lay me down, let me be that place. I hear my footsteps grinding sand; I love the sound.
I do wonder sometimes, do I post these images too often for my readers. I do hope you find pleasure too. I know I will post them no matter what.

I’m grateful you post them. Part of me is always in the sea and with the creatures within. Being there last weekend I felt whole and at peace—it’s the only time it really happens for me.

Thank you Bridgette for responding. That makes me glad. I will post these images – no matter what, like I said, but… Yea, more glad because if you wanna know me, then know this place because you’re seeing what makes my heart glad for being here. We all have our history, don’t we, and that includes “place”. This is my place. As a child, as an adult, this is where I go when I imagine “home”.
I always think when I meet someone I really care about – this is where I’d like to share with you. I mean that personally, understand.

We all do have that place and I’m happy you are sharing it with me. The beach house I rent a few times a year in Dillion’s Beach is mine. I’ve taken my kids there since before they could walk. The ocean knows my secrets and has seen me cry in anguish over and over again. It also lifts my spirits. I know that stretch of sand as I do my own backyard.
